Delete your BrowseBuddy account

You can permanently delete your BrowseBuddy account and the personal data associated with it.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Request account deletion

Send an email to info@browsebuddy.org with the subject “BrowseBuddy account deletion request”. Please send the request from the email address associated with your BrowseBuddy account.

We will normally process verified deletion requests within 30 days.

Data that will be deleted

When your BrowseBuddy account is deleted, we will delete the personal data associated with your account, including:

  • your BrowseBuddy account;
  • your email address and authentication information;
  • saved account preferences;
  • saved plant-identification records, search history and marked favourites;
  • other personal data directly associated with your BrowseBuddy account.

Data that may be retained

We may retain limited information where this is necessary to comply with legal, accounting, security or fraud-prevention obligations. Any retained information will only be kept for as long as necessary for those purposes and will then be deleted or anonymised.

Information that has already been anonymised and can no longer be linked to your account may be retained.

Purchase and subscription records held by Google Play or the Apple App Store are managed by those providers and are not controlled by BrowseBuddy.

Cancel your subscription

Deleting your BrowseBuddy account does not automatically cancel an active subscription purchased through Google Play or the Apple App Store. To prevent future renewal charges, cancel your subscription.

Google Play
  1. Open the Google Play Store.
  2. Tap your profile icon and select Payments & subscriptions.
  3. Select Subscriptions.
  4. Select BrowseBuddy.
  5. Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions.
Apple App Store
  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap your name.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Select BrowseBuddy.
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription.
